Browsing Instagram without an account will differ depending on whether you use your computer or smartphone. Below, I’ll show you how to do both—starting with your phone.  

From a computer

Before I show you how to use Instagram without an account, you should keep a few things in mind. First, the account you want to view must be set to public—otherwise, you won’t be able to view its posts. Moreover, you can’t like or comment on posts without signing into your account.  

The method that I’ll show you to view Instagram without an account will work for most of the time. However, in some instances, the platform might keep redirecting you to the sign-in page. You can quit the browser, reopen it, and use the method again if this continually happens.  

Below are the steps you can follow to view Instagram without an account:  

1. Open your web browser.
2. In the search bar, type instagram.com/[enter account name here].
3. Click on the post that you want to see.  

Alternatively, you can copy and paste the URL for a specific post into your web browser. To do this:  

1. Hold the Control button and click on your trackpad after hovering over the post you want to see, before selecting Copy Link from the dropdown menu.
2. Copy and paste the link into your browser.
3. Hit the Enter key on your Mac and the post should appear—see below for an example.

From a phone

To watch Instagram without an account on your phone, you’ll need to use your web browser, as you can only view Instagram from the app with an account. Below are the steps you should follow:  

1. Open the web browser on your phone and type the Instagram account you want to view, before hitting the go button.
2. Look for the post you want to view and click on it.
3. You should be able to see your post in the format that the screenshot below highlights.

If you want to view a specific post instead of someone’s profile, follow these steps instead:  

1. Copy and paste the post’s URL into your browser and select go.
2. Your post should load in the same way that you can see in the screenshots below. To view a carousel, you can click through the arrows.

How to view Instagram stories without an account?

Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t allow you to view user stories without registering for an account and signing in. You can, however, use third-party services. Below, I’ll provide a selection that you can explore further.

How to find someone on Instagram without an account?

Although you can’t search Instagram without an account, finding someone without having a profile is possible. I’ll outline what you need to do below.  

1. Open the web browser on your smartphone or computer.
2. If you don’t know the account’s username, search for their name and “Instagram” in your browser.
3. In most cases, the person or profile you’re looking for will be the highest search result, and you can click on it.
4. As you can see from the screenshot below, the user’s profile should load as normal. You can then scroll through and view their posts.
5. Alternatively, if you know the person’s username, type instagram.com/[username] and hit the Enter key or go button.
