6. Update Microsoft Outlook

7. Upgrade your macOS

In case updating the app doesn’t work, it’s time to check that macOS is up-to-date. Here’s how to see if your macOS needs upgrading:

  1. Open System Settings > General.
  2. Click on Software Updates.
  3. Wait for your Mac to Scan for Updates. If any are available, click Upgrade Now.

8. Launch Outlook into safe mode

8.1. Mac on Apple Silicon

Here’s how to boot a Mac, with Apple Silicon software, into safe mode:

  1. Turn off your Mac.
  2. Press the power button and hold down to open Startup Options.
  3. Choose Options and select your startup disk.
  4. Hold down Shift.
  5. Click Continue in Safe Mode, release Shift, and log in as prompted.
To launch Outlook into safe mode, on an  Apple Silicon laptop, you'll first need to turn off your device. Then, once the power is off, press the power button and hold it down until you see the new Startup Options.
Step 1. With your Mac off, press the power button and hold it down to open Startup Options
In the new login window, you'll need to click on Options and then your Startup Disk to put your Apple Silicon Mac into Safe Mode.
Step 2. Click on Options and select your startup disk
As you click on Options, also hold down the Shift key as this will bring up the option you need to boot your mac into Safe Mode.
Step 3. Make sure to hold down the Shift key
When you see the button Continue in Safe Mode appear, you can click on it and release the Shift key at the same time. You will then log into your Mac in Safe Mode. This may help you resolve your Outlook verification issue.
Step 4.  Then you’ll see the option to Continue in Safe Mode, release Shift, and log into your Mac

8.2. Mac on Intel

If you have an Intel Mac, these steps will show you how to launch safe mode:

  1. With your Mac off, Press the power button while holding Shift.
  2. Release the Shift key when the login window appears and log in.
  3. You should see Safe Mode in the corner of the login screen.
If you have a Mac device that runs on Intel, then the steps to boot into Safe Mode are a little different but much quicker. To begin, ensure your device is turned off. Then, press the Power button whilst also holding down the Shift key.
Step 1. With your MacBook off, press the Power button whilst holding down Shift
When you see this login window, you can let go of the Shift key. Now you can process by clicking on your Startup Disk and pressing Continue in Safe Mode to see if this solves your stuck Outlook account issues.
Step 2. Release the Shift key when the login window appears and continue in Safe Mode.

9. Reset Microsoft Outlook

Still no luck? It might be time to try resetting Microsoft Outlook to restore any corrupt settings.

 

Here’s how to reset Microsoft Outlook:

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Go to Tools > Accounts.
  3. Click on the three dots and press Reset Account.
To reset Microsoft Outlook, to remove any corrupt files or hidden settings preventing the verification from being fixed, begin by clicking on Tools. Then head to Accounts.
