To get an Apple ID verification code without a phone, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to System Settings (System Preferences on pre-macOS Ventura software) > Apple ID.
  2. Tap Password & Security (will show up on some devices as Sign-In & Security).
  3. Tap Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. You should see an option called Get a Verification Code. Click on this button.

1. Manage two-factor authentication with a trusted device for your Apple ID

To manage 2FA on your Apple computer:

  1. Go to Apple logo > System Settings > Apple ID > Sign-In and Security on your Mac.
  2. Select Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. If you haven’t already, turn on two-factor authentication. Or if you have 2FA enabled, select Get a Verification Code in the next window.
  4. Enter the verification code you see on your screen > hit OK > tap Done.
To manage two-factor authentication with a trusted device for your Apple ID, go to your Apple ID settings and select Sign In & Security. Here, you can get a two-factor authentication code.

The Get Verification Code button is located toward the bottom of the pop-up window on your screen. You'll next see a code appear.

These are the steps to send an Apple ID verification code to others:

  1. Go to the Apple ID website and add a trusted phone number.
  2. Send a trusted verification code to the trusted phone number.
  3. Go to the phone associated with your trusted phone number.
  4. Type the verification code that you receive via SMS.

3. Get an Apple ID verification code using a new email

To confirm Apple ID without a phone number:

  1. Log into the Apple ID website on your browser.
  2. Go to Apple ID.
  3. Under Change your Apple ID, type in the new email address you want to be associated with your account.
  4. Verify your address.
When you sign into your Apple ID account, you can change the email address associated with your account. Go to the Apple ID tab.

Enter your desired new Apple ID. You'll then need to verify the address via a verification code, which'll be sent by Apple.

4. Use an authenticator app for your Apple ID verification codes

Now, confirm the Apple ID verification codes you receive with an authenticator app:

  1. Sign into a website or app you're trying to access.
  2. Use a verification app if the option becomes available.
  3. Enter the verification code you see on your screen.
  4. Confirm the choice if needed.

How to recover your Apple ID account with Apple support

You can use the Apple ID website in your browser to retrieve your account by going to Forgot Apple ID.

 

In some cases, however, your Apple ID account might get locked—and knowing how to unlock Apple ID is essential. Fortunately, it's quite easy to do so. All you have to do is to follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Apple ID website.
  2. Select Sign In.
  3. Click on Forgotten your password.
  4. Enter your Apple ID email address or associated number, before completing the CAPTCHA verification and selecting Continue.
  5. Follow the remaining steps that you're asked to complete on your screen.
On the Apple ID website, you'll see a prompt to sign into your account at the top of your screen. Click on this to commence recovery.
